we're all part of the same sick little games and i NEED A GET AWAY, A GET AWAY. I'M WASTING my days. i throw them away. losing it all. ----------- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
If there had been only one thing that being in California made Charlie figure something out, it was why whenever you saw summer advertisements, people were always wearing what looked like the shortest shorts they could possibly find. Despite the fact that the day was barely over, it was already at the mid day point, the hottest point of the day, made even worse by the California heat, and Charlie immediately began to regret her wardrobe choice for the day. No matter how tight and thin her shirt was, it was the skin tight, bright pink jeans that were coming back to haunt her, as they clung to her legs. It didn’t even seem possible nor right for anyone person to be as close to passing out as Charlie was. Oh well. She’d get over it as the day went on, growing more used to the heat. The summers weren’t much different than what she was used to, however, back then, she had the common sense to wear shorts. Sure, she had packed shorts, she had just sort of skimmed over them, going for a more vibrant look, rather than taking into consideration that she was in California during the summer, not Antarctica in the middle of winter. She would have much rather been in some place cool, but, that wasn't going to happen most likely, as this tour took up her entire summer, not that she minded. Touring was her favorite part of the year.
It was an escape from her family, more specifically her mother and her crude comments about her reputation as a heart breaker. It wasn't like Charlie had just woken up one day and decided that she wanted to be known as the girl whose relationships lasted on average couple of weeks and usually ended because she cheated. It wasn't a desirable thing to be known as, which was why she was glad there were some people in her life who wouldn't judge her for it. They wouldn't take it as her mother had, first calling her too clingy then telling her she needed to learn how to stick with one person and one person only. It was never helpful that her mother wasn't a huge supporter of what Charlie wanted to do, while supporting her ass off for her brother and sister. Though, her mother's thoughts didn't phase her. She didn't need her. She had everyone that she would possibly need and it didn't matter if her mother wasn't supporting her. Charlie loved what she was doing and if her mother had problem with that, she could just get over it. Anyone who would treat their daughter with the comments that Charlie's had wasn't needed for support. She had her friends and her band mates. Who else did she really need?
The petite brunette wandered about the tour grounds, passing everything from merchandise tents, to stages, to the random food booths set up all along the sidewalks and tents. It was just aimlessly walking like this that Charlie adored. It was times like these when the touring atmosphere really sunk in, just watching everyone wander around. It wasn't like some of this was new to Charlie, it was just that she was a person who took a while to get used to things, at times. A tour like this was definitely one of those things. Multiple bands, hundreds or maybe even thousands of people, and just an all out different experience than what Charlie was used to. Though, there was no chance that anyone could get Charlie to admit to it, she was still getting used to the whole idea of being a huge band and touring. The whole idea phased her slightly, though, not enough to really impact her life majorly, just enough to have her stress herself out. It didn't help that when she got stressed, she tended to do things that she knew she'd regret later on. But, so long as she was the only one that knew that she was still getting used to it, that was fine with Charlie. That was the way she liked things.
As the smell of food wafted through the air, an aching hunger settled into Charlie's stomach. Well, it was around lunch time and she had skipped breakfast that morning, so food sounded absolutely wonderful. Charlie continued wandering around the tour site, entering the catering area, her hunger instantly increased by how much stronger the smell was now that she was at the actual catering tents. There was a rather lengthy line, however, that came as no surprise to Charlie. It was about lunch time, anyway. She took her spot in the line, not finding an familiar faces, just grabbing herself a plate with a vegetarian burger, a little bit of potato salad, and a handful of potato chips, in addition to a lemon lime gatorade. For as hungry as she had been, the plate before her certainly didn't show it. Though, she hadn't been feeling the best, so, she didn't want to chance eating too much and then feeling absolutely shitty afterward. Skimming the area briefly, she found an empty spot with just about no one around. She wandered over, pulling out the chair, placing her food and drink down, sitting down into the chair. So far, no familiar faces appeared, but that didn't mean anything. Someone had to show up. It was lunch time. People were bound to be hungry, right? Right. So, all she had to do now was wait.
It wasn't like someone wasn't going to show up eventually. Besides, if someone needed her, that was the reason why she had a cell phone in the first place. It was the easiest way for anyone who wanted to find her to find her. If someone didn't wind up coming eventually, Charlie decided that she'd probably call up someone and ask them to come join her, as she hated doing things alone, most of the time. Especially, when she was in a good mood, as she was at that moment. Waiting for a little bit wouldn't kill her. So, it had been decided. Who knew that something as simple as eating could have so many possibilities to go along with it? Charlie had never imagined it would. She adjusted the head band pulling her hair back so her hair stopped falling into her face, eating a few of her chips, not really touching anything else just yet.

this is the rescue, the rescueTHE REASON I'VE BEEN HOLDING MY BREATH EVERY NIGHT- - - - - - - - - - - - - - , cut the line off, and the last fan had just filtered past him, where that smile was still plastered on his face. Though he was sure that it was hardly convincing anymore. They had a show tonight too, and he was currently not excited about finding his drum sticks. They’d been disappearing like crazy lately, and if he had to go buy more again he was going to be a bit more than pissed off. Caine had no idea where any of his six sets were, nor where the three sets he had bought last week ran off to. He was starting to think that Charlie might have been hiding them just to piss him off, but he’d looked everywhere on the bus and with all their crap, and he still couldn’t find any of them. Fucking tour buses always ate his shit. No one else ever loses their crap, simply because he does enough of that for all of them. From socks, to drum sticks, to eyeliner. He had learned already not to bring anything super important with him again, because it would most likely disappear. He looked around at the crowd of people still taking pictures of them, then rested his eyes on his band mates as they stood and filtered out through the back of the signing tent. All he had to say was thank God for back exits to those damn tents. Fighting your way to where ever through the mob of fans would be like walking straight into the bottom layer of hell and telling Satan to go fuck himself. And quite frankly, he's just not stupid enough for that. Okay, okay, he knows. He wasn't in the best mood today, but hey, all of them are allowed a couple of bitch fests per tour, and well, he was taking one of hers today. At least with being a drummer he could bang the hell out of stuff and no one will look at him funny. Or think he was psychotic. Apparently though, now he actually cared what people thought of him. Normally he was a pretty happy person, and he doesn't care when his bubbly, hyper personality takes its toll on those around him. He's just that much more awesome than everyone else. But as of late, the situation at hand had been taking a much bigger toll on Caine than he previously allowed it to. He just couldn’t help it anymore. The ex-girlfriend that was stalking him had him constantly looking over his shoulder and becoming more and more reserved each day. Caine felt like if he didn’t tell someone soon he was going to go completely mad. They filtered out through the back, and instead of instantly following like usual, he hung back, staying at the back of the tent and looking around himself. It was actually pretty nice today, aside from the fact that it was hotter than hell, but he was a little distracted. After updating Twitter for the eighth time in the past three hours, he stuffed his iPhone in his back pocket, and slipped between the signing tent and a neighboring merch tent to go pretend to be social for a while. After doing the usual stuff each day, he’d go and visit friends from other bands or just go back to the bus and sleep. Maybe even watch a CSI marathon or two and throw popcorn in the general direction of the T.V. when someone pissed him off, if he was feeling bad ass that day. So he figured he might as well let everyone know that he wasn’t perpetually irritated and that he was going to start being happy, even if all he wanted was to be irritable from lack of stimulation. In the time that it took him to space out, he had found that it had been about twenty minutes and no one he knew was left around him. Taking the back routes, and probably looking like a stalker, he made his way to the catering tent, where the buffet line was moving at record speed for the insane lunch rush length. He slipped in through the back, keeping low for a second before popping up into eye sight and looking around, not sure if he wanted to eat or not. Spotting a familiar brunette head and small body seated at an empty table, a grin broke out across his full lips, though it wasn’t as convincing as it always used to be. He knew that Charlie was getting more and more irritated with him since he got moodier. They’d been friends since the days of grade school, sweating it out under the Louisiana school and avoiding all the honest to God gangsters on the school bus. Caine knew that she could tell something was seriously bothering him, and since they were so close, he knew that it probably offended her as well. Sliding his toned body into a chair next to her and swiping a few chips from her plate, he popped one in his mouth and said, “ Charlie, fans are a pain in the ass sometimes.”[/blockquote] [/ul] charlie adrianna monroe. music!search the city words! one zero six five. graphics! me. template! we're all part of the same sick little games and i NEED A GET AWAY, A GET AWAY. I'M WASTING my days. i throw them away. losing it all. ----------- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Despite the quiet roar of multiple people shuffling through the catering area caused by everyone from bands to their crew to random people who Charlie wasn't even sure whether they belonged back here for not, the whole atmosphere was rather peaceful. It was a break from screaming and having everything from t-shirts, posters, bra, and body parts being shoved in her direction to sign. Sure, she didn't mind signing theses things, well most of them, just there was only so much they could put Charlie through before she got annoyed. Her temper wasn't the longest ever, and she got annoyed rather easily. She just needed quiet every once in a while, where there wasn't going to be someone who was going to start screaming her name and spazzing out on her. She loved the fans, she really did, just when she didn't felt sick as all hell as though she was about to pass out and have a heat stroke. The cover of the catering area hadn't been helping much either. The brunette pushed around her styrofoam plate around the table a bit, hardly anything from the plate missing from when she first took the food. It didn't help that when she became stressed out, she couldn't eat much, if anything, at all. It was no wonder she stayed as tiny as she was with how little she tended to eat.
Charlie couldn't place her finger on exactly why she was stressed. Of course, she knew what some of the things were, from her perfectionist ways to the way being on this tour felt so different to the way that she had just seemed so out of the loop in everything that was going on with the remainder of Here There & Everywhere, especially Caine. That was the part that got to her and confused her the most. Just from the unusual way he had been acting to his lack of telling her anything. It just didn't make sense to her. She couldn't remember, for the life of her, the last time she had seen him like this, if there had ever been a time. Charlie honestly did miss who she considered to be one of the closest friends she had, but, until he chose to explain to her what the hell was going on, she wasn't going to pry. However badly she wanted to know, just to try to fix it, she wasn't going to pry. It was going to be more difficult than selling ice to an eskimo for her not to pry, but, the last thing she ever wanted would be to drive him away. So not knowing was just going to have to be the way she remained.
Glancing around once more, Charlie sighed lightly. Still, she couldn't find someone she knew, and it looked rather odd, every other table nearly full and her sitting at a table all alone. Leaving and just heading back to their bus or something along those lines automatically began seeming more and more tempting. However, all temptation from that ended when a familiar figure slid into the chair beside her, stealing some of her food before speaking. Caine. The exact person who she had just been wondering what the hell was going on with. Well, maybe, this would be her time to ask, but not pry, and find out. Or, she could just be a normal incurious person and not ask, but what was the fun in that? "Hey hey hey, for one, I was eating that, thank you very much," Charlie smirked, making it obvious that she was just teasing. "Nah, take whatever you want. I'm not that hungry," she added, nodding to the plate. She wasn't sure what had happened to her appetite, but it was damn near non-existent now. "And, are you just now figuring that out? Why do you think I never showed up at the merch tent this morning? It's too early for me to handle that." She asked, stealing back one of the chips he had taken from her, eating it quickly. Sure, it was only twelve, but when she was hungry and overheated, the last thing you wanted to do was annoy Charlie, hence why she never had actually showed up at their merchandise tent. She wanted to, so that no one else went insane alone, but, she had just sort of forgotten and chosen not to. She glanced over at Caine, noticing something off. Not psychically, but in the way that only friends could really notice if something was going on. "Everything okay?" Charlie asked, knowing she was going to be stuck with one hell of an explanation if it turned out there was nothing wrong at all and she was just reading far too much into everything. Though, even if there was nothing wrong, at least, she tried. However, she was almost positive that there was indeed something wrong. She was good with figuring that sort of thing out. Just, not with actually figuring out what was wrong. It hurt that he wasn't telling her, though, if she wasn't supposed to know, it was that simple. It killed her, but she wasn't going to pry. She debated whether or not to try and change the subject and pretend like she had never asked anything to begin with, but, she wasn't the sort of person to lie and keep things sugar coated. She had always been known as a rather blunt person. Though, honestly, regardless of whether or not he chose to answer the question, honest answer or not, she was just ecstatic to finally have some company, rather than getting stuck eating alone. And, now, she also had someone there in case she randomly passed out. That was it. For the rest of the summer, the majority of the time, unless it was supposed to rain, she was wearing shorts. Awaiting an answer, she grabbed the bottle of gatorade, the familiar cracking sound forming as she twisted off the orange cap, taking a quick sip, before placing the bottle back on the table. this is the rescue, the rescueTHE REASON I'VE BEEN HOLDING MY BREATH EVERY NIGHT- - - - - - - - - - - - - - ” he said playfully, his eyes scanning behind his friend in search of a face in the back of his mind he knew he wouldn’t find. At her offer to take whatever he wanted, he reached over a paw with already wrapped fingers to lift the bun to her burger, finding that it was vegetarian and wrinkling his nose before plucking her fork and stabbing a piece of potato salad, chewing for a moment as he thought of the best way to approach her question about fans. “ Still though, I mean it’s just part of it. Although I definitely didn’t mind seeing all the pretty girls staring at me like they wanted to rip my clothes off,” he said after swallowing, some remnants remaining in his mouth and making his tongue feel heavy as he considered if he was okay. Truth be told, he knew that he wasn’t, and he also knew that Charlie wouldn’t let him lie about it for much longer. “ Oh, no actually. This is insanely awkward,” he said while maneuvering her fork to get another bite of the potato salad. Caine wasn’t even that crazy about it, but it gave him something else to focus on beside the matter at hand. “ Do you remember that girl I dated when I was like… fifteen? For like, two years? Abigail? Well she’s freaking stalking me.” He looked down at the plate and put the fork down, now feeling a bit too troubled to eat. He knew that she wouldn’t be able to do anything really to help him or fix it, but if there was one thing that Caine did know, it was Charlie. And Charlie was not going to sit back and do nothing. He wasn’t sure if he wanted that, if he wanted her to get involved. However, having one person know what he was feeling was a good enough release for him. At least for today, anyway. He felt as though he was causing a scene, being overdramatic even just by blurting it out and letting it affect him. This was another part of fame, right? Having people obsess over you and follow you around like lost dogs? If it had been some random girl, Caine honestly didn’t think he would have cared. Maybe he would have even found it to be flattering. But Abigail was just trying to get a hold of him because either she never got over him, or now she just wanted to say her boyfriend was a rock star. No matter which of these options he may have found to be true, neither would make him want any more to do with her than he did now. And that was absolutely nothing. It was so surreal, being on a tour like this. Sure, it was only the beginning of the tour, hence why the whole realization hadn't really set in yet, due to her lack of touring experience. Despite the fact that her whole band was in the exact same position, it felt as though she was the only one who was getting used to the whole situation. It wasn't like she wasn't used to performing in front of crowds. It was just this sort of crowd she wasn't used to. Sometimes, going from rags to riches as quickly as they had wasn't the best thing for someone's sanity. After all, Charlie was just a small town girl. Sure, she had spent her fair share of times in cities, but that was only ever visiting, which rarely happened, due to the hell she had to go through to even get anywhere. Travel was more of a hassle than it was really worth, so it was a rare occasion for her to be able to travel anywhere further than from Eros to West Monroe, only necessary for schooling. Now, to be given the chance to travel across the country. It was one hell of an honor. It'd just take Charlie some time to get used to.
Being the new band on the scene made things difficult, at times, getting used to the whole way things worked, but at the exact same time, it made things easier. Charlie had been able to wander around aimlessly, no one even realizing that she was part of the tour, so long as she kept her pass clipped to one of her belt loops. It was nice to be able to wander without being swarmed and murdered. She wasn't exactly sure how she was going to deal with that the first time it happened. If it was anything like getting mauled as she had during some of the many concerts she had attended, solely because everyone wanted to get to the front, she knew she was going to get brutally murdered. Sure, she was at an average height, making things like that easier, but her slim figure did absolutely nothing to help her there. It didn't help that she wasn't much of an eater, either. It wasn't that she was anorexic or anything along those lines. She just wasn't the sort of person who had a huge appetite. It didn't help that she knew there were going to be a large amount of times from now on that all eyes were going to be on her, to the point where they could see her entire body. If only one thing was disproportionate, well, Charlie just didn't want to think of the way people would react to that.
Besides, people these days were shallow and the best looking bands were always the ones that sold best, for the most part. Everyone always liked something to look at and if you were coming to watch a band perform, eye candy was always nice. And since, during Here There & Everywhere's sets, she would be on stage, in the direction everyone was looking in, what was so wrong with giving them a little something to look at? It was no secret that Charlie had always cared about the way she looked, putting her all into looking the best that she could everyday. Though, the California heat and humidity were doing absolutely nothing for her today. Upon hearing her friend's response to her offering up her food, Charlie scoffed playfully, shoving him lightly. "Hey now, what's so wrong with trying to give some of the guys in the audience something to look at?" Charlie questioned, teasingly, though, she was being totally serious. She loved giving people something to look at. "You have to have a good figure to pull off stuff like that!" Charlie added. She loved times like this. When she could just tease someone without them taking offense to it or thinking she was a bitch or anything along those lines. Besides, you did have to have a good figure to pull off half the things people wore on stage. Now granted she wasn't going to go on stage wearing shorts so short that they looked like underwear and a shirt that covered those shorts. She didn't want to look as though she had just been fucking someone in their bus and their shirt was the first thing she could find without being late for her set. That wasn't the image she wanted go for. Charlie had to smirk slightly, hearing his comment about pretty girls wanting to rip his clothes off. "Oh really? I thought it was going to be the way they were looking at you like they wanted to shove you up against one of the chairs in the back and well, I'll just leave the rest to your imagination," Charlie smirked, making it damn obvious she was just messing around. "But, you know, I'm not the sort of person who would get that. Pretty girls wanting to rip my clothes off doesn't do much for me. Their boyfriends, however? That I wouldn't mind." Charlie had grown used to saying things that made her sound like a whore, but, she hoped that it came off that she was joking. For the most part, at least. If some of them wanted her, she wasn't going to object. Though, she preferred to go for the type that wasn't taken. It was much easier that way. Charlie grabbed her gatorade right as she heard him finally admit that something was wrong. Taking a sip, she choked, throwing herself into a coughing fit when he said why things weren't okay. A stalker? A fucking stalker? A mother fucking stalker? Not to mention, it wasn't just a stalker. It was a stalker ex-girlfriend. Now, that was just creepy. "And, I thought my last relationship ended badly," Charlie barely managed to sputter out, her coughing fit refusing to cease. Finally, when she stopped coughing, she could get out a complete sentence. "You know, telling me that was probably a horrible idea, because you know, I'm not just going to sit back and do nothing about it." It was true. She wasn't the type of girl who could do something like that. She couldn't just sit back and not do anything about it. It wasn't the sort of girl she was and considering that this was Caine who was having issues with someone, well, it just even further proved that Charlie was going to get involved. this is the rescue, the rescueTHE REASON I'VE BEEN HOLDING MY BREATH EVERY NIGHT- - - - - - - - - - - - - - ” He rolled his eyes playfully and plucked off his sunglasses, setting them on the table next to him, feeling himself relax for the first time in a while now. Of course, his friend had managed to work up quite the reputation back home for being less than prude, but that never made his opinion of her waver in the slightest. If anything it had helped him feel closer to her, because he found himself defending her anytime someone made some kind of jackass comment about her in his presence. People just didn’t fuck with Caine’s friends. It normally ended badly for the party in question. “ Oh, really? I guess I pegged you as the type who would finally come out of the closet when so many people liked you too much to give a shit which way your door swung,” he said, playfulness coloring his tone and widening his smile, the emotion touching his eyes for a moment before he realized that not everything was all well and good. After he had spoken again, which he regretted after sending Charlie into a coughing fit, he averted his gaze from her. That move went against everything normal for him. He was very good with body language, and when he spoke to you he always looked you in the eyes. Unless of course it was something that made him feel so horrible that he couldn’t stand to associate something he cared about with it. Her touch of sarcasm on the subject allowed his lips to twitch upward from the tight line they had formed for only a moment before he forced himself to look at her again. “ I know, I know. I just… You’re the only person I could trust with it. I feel like I’m freaking going insane with paranoia.” That much was definitely true about him. If something was bothering him, it never really touched him in the way. But for some reason, this situation was costing him sleep and his sanity. As awkward as it was talking about it, he did feel a bit better already, just from letting someone else in on what was happening. Caine did still feel isolated, but maybe with a quick pep talk from his best friend he’d feel better.[/blockquote] [/ul] charlie adrianna monroe. music!search the city words! one one five eight. graphics! me. template! we're all part of the same sick little games and i NEED A GET AWAY, A GET AWAY. I'M WASTING my days. i throw them away. losing it all. ----------- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
There were so many things in life that confused the hell out of Charlie, though, her one thing that that was at the moment was the fact that you could be sitting under something keeping an entire area shaded, yet still feel as though you were about to pass out from heat exhaustion. Charlie was unsure as to why today's heat had been any different than it was back in Lousiana, yet, it was. That was one of those moments when Charlie dearly wished she was at some place where it could actually rain, during the summer. Sure, California was gorgeous, it was just insane to try to deal with while feeling as though you were about to die. Hence why her bottle of gatorade that had been nearly entirely full about fifteen minutes ago was now nearly empty. It was rare that Charlie ever drank anything that fast, and it probably looked rather off. It didn't help that she wasn't really in the mood to get up and walk over towards the huge line that, despite how fast it was flowing, still looked rather lengthy. If worse came to the absolute worse, she'd try to rejoin the line, but for now, she was fine, somewhat. She wasn't going to die or pass out anytime soon, as far she knew. She felt fine, besides feeling a tad bit light headed, and that wasn't an unusual thing for her. It was just a mixture of stress, not knowing how things were going to turn out that evening, during their set, and of course, the heat.
It was so strange for Charlie to feel like this, as nervous as she was. She wasn't used to feeling like this. Then again, she wasn't used to being considered a band that had the potential to be one of the hottest bands to hit the music scene. It wasn't exactly something people got used to quickly. It felt good, though, to know that someone thought they had potential, otherwise they wouldn't have been given a slot on the tour, let alone having a set later in the day. It was obvious that the way tours worked always involved the newest and smallest bands first, working their way up, with their biggest bands performing late in the afternoon or the early evening. Though, it just added to the pressure that was finally beginning to sink in. Sure, she was the type of girl who always tended to thrive under extreme pressure, her perfectionist shining through, yet, the whole fear of messing everything up and not starting off the tour with a good first impression didn't sit well with Charlie. The last thing she wanted was to fuck this all up. They had worked so damn hard to get where they were now, getting lucky with getting signed straight after winning their battle of the bands competition, but still. It was possible to spend a lifetime working for something, only to lose it in the blink of an eye. It was a pessimistic point of view, but with the way Charlie just wanted to see the band go far, it was hard to be optimistic when every time you tried, something just sunk in, causing the realization that everything might not be okay. It was possible to think that things could be, but it was foolish. And, this was the entirety of the reason why Charlie had been so damn stressed, as of the later days.
Charlie had never been so thankful, however, with how shallow some people could be. It was no secret that the bands full of the people both boys and girls alike found attractive sold much better than the bands who were mediocre at best, no matter how talented they were. Sure, talent did quite often come into play, but anyone who thought that was all that mattered had to have been naive. It was obvious that the music world worked just as the high school world worked. The most attractive stayed on top, while those who weren't quite so attractive had their work cut out for them, if they wanted anything to bring them to the top, if that was even possible. Though, in high school, that had never been something Charlie had to worry about. It wasn't that people around her thought she was attractive, for if they did, she hadn't had the slightest idea about it, but, more or less the fact that the one person who's opinion mattered to her that wasn't directly one of her best friends, but her boyfriend, found her to be that way. At least, that was how things used to be. Her self-esteem had been in ruins for a little while, directly after the break up, but, it didn't take her too long to get over the lack of self-esteem. She had her friends and that was all she needed, right? Charlie rolled her eyes playfully, as she listened to yet another reply. "Oh, I don't know, Caine. You know, if I was some rabid fan girl who came upon our merch tent and saw you, I would have been pretty damn tempted." Charlie smirked, before adding her touch of tease to it. "But, of course, I'm not a rabid fan girl, so you'd never have to worry about that happening," Charlie stated, barely able to keep herself from laughing, letting out a light laugh, anyway. Her reputation was no secret to anyone who knew who she was, with the constant remarks and comments she got about it. There was no denying that her reputation tended to precede her, girls automatically thinking of her as a home wrecking whore and some of the more promiscuous guys around the area trying to take that to their advantage. It was an odd thing. It didn't bother her, however, as she was who she was. People could take it or people could leave it. It didn't bother to her either way. If they wanted to judge her, that was their choice. She wasn't the type who got pissed off when people threw crude remarks in her direction, slurs such as whore, bitch, slut, skank and so on. None of those things bothered her. Why? Well, because, she would have been a hypocrite, had she not wanted to hear it. The truth didn't bother her. There was no denying that however much some times people didn't want to think about it that it was true. Charlie scoffed teasingly, this time laced with mock offense. "I'm offended that you would think such a thing, Caine." Charlie growled, though, it wasn't anywhere near convincing, as there was a smirk on her face all the way through it. It was always so obvious when she was teasing, as she could barely say something like that around one of her best friends without breaking out into a smirk. She almost always had a smile on her face, except when she was upset about something. Noticing the way things changed after her coughing fit, she almost instantly began to regret the way she had so carelessly chosen that specific moment to take a drink, knowing that there was bound to have been some sort of shocking news coming, judging by the way he had flat out said no and the fact that it was rather awkward. But, still. A damned stalker hadn't exactly been anywhere near the top of the list of things Charlie had thought that it would have been. In fact, it hadn't exactly even been on the list. She understood familial issues, issues with an ex-girlfriend that didn't include stalking or just an all around thing about the tour. That was the last thing she had even thought it could have been. It didn't help that Charlie also happened to know the girl, because, that meant Charlie knew exactly who she was and most likely what she looked like. It wasn't going to end well the first time Charlie saw her again, that was a definite thing. "Well, I'm glad that you trusted me enough to tell me. And, I guess I can try to not do anything too rash. But, I can't make any promises about anything." It was true. She would try not to do anything, but, she couldn't promise anything. She was more or less of an in the moment person. Pursing her lips slightly, Charlie figured it probably would have been wise to change the subject. "If I pass out on you, I'm so sorry," Charlie laughed lightly. "I've just felt like I was about to pass out for the past hour or so." [/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I'M PINNING mister caine andrew enright! this is the rescue, the rescueTHE REASON I'VE BEEN HOLDING MY BREATH EVERY NIGHT- - - - - - - - - - - - - - ” he said easily, their child like banter putting him in a little bit of a better mood. They had always teased each other, sometimes at school they were so mean that they actually got sent to the principal due to the teacher thinking that they were serious. He had no idea how many paddlings he had gotten from something like that. It never taught him to control his impulse to one up Charlie, though. He stuck his tongue out at her in response to her mock offense at his jab on her sexuality, even though he knew damn well that she was pretty much team guy all the way. It was just too much fun to make homosexual jokes, and he could never figure out why. Obviously, Caine’s not one of those people concerned with offending people. Although he knew that Charlie was comfortable with herself and all that good stuff, it still always angered him when people talked bad about people he cared about in any way. In his eyes, he was the only one who was allowed to make fun of their clothes, hair, or sexual experiences. Therefore, he always found himself bitching anyone out who said a word about her in a context that was meant to be hurtful. Maybe he trusted her with things so easily because he had known her for so long, or maybe just because he seemed to be the first one there to help her pick up the pieces when it came to her insane as hell mother. She was always there for him though, and he couldn’t really think of a time where she had let him fall flat on his face. So to be honest, it shouldn’t have surprised him that she was the one that he decided to spill to. “ Oh please, I know that. I don’t care what the hell you do to her, as long as it doesn’t land you jail time. Just remember, Love, no body, no crime.” A wicked grin passed his lips for a few moments, and he let it fall as he spoke again, his face contorting to confusion until he understood what she had said. “ Oi, that’s not good,” Caine said, eying her for a moment. “ You should go back to the bus and change. Want me to come with ya?” he asked, raising an eyebrow and plucking a chip off her plate. we're all part of the same sick little games and i NEED A GET AWAY, A GET AWAY. I'M WASTING my days. i throw them away. losing it all. ----------- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
It was times like these that meant the world to Charlie. What exactly did she mean by that? Well, just the whole ordeal of getting to actually spend some quality time with someone that absolutely meant the world to you. Charlie was truly happiest during the times she got to spend with just about everyone in the band. Of course, she was closer to some than others, but that was just the way life wound up working out. Her friends were what kept her going day by day and quite honestly, Charlie didn't know what she would have ever done with herself had she not had them to help her pick up the pieces every time they fell apart again. It amazed her how people could see her as vulnerable as she used to be and during some of her most pathetic days, yet, never judge her for it. Those were the kind of people Charlie absolutely adored. Her mother, however, was nowhere near making that category. When she was younger, Charlie had sworn up and down that if she left, her mother would have noticed. Sadly, that was actually rather close to the truth. Though, in Charlie's mind, jealously wasn't an option, she had always been jealous of anyone who had the support of their family, rather than being the one in the family who was left out, despite having made it the farthest and actually having had to work for what she wanted, alone in the world except for the people who she would have never made it without. She often wondered if those people knew how much they actually meant to her.
But, despite the fact that her nerves were slowly getting to her more and more, there was no place she would have rather been. She was in California, despite being viciously murdered by the heat, on what was probably going to be the biggest tour of the summer, with her best friends, nonetheless. There was nothing more that Charlie could have asked for that could have made the summer to come more perfect than she was hoping it would be. Even if it wasn't, it was better than anything else that she could have imagined doing that summer. Here she was, living out her dream to its fullest, a slap in the face to everyone who had ever said Here There & Everywhere would never make it. It hadn't been easy and it had been mostly an uphill battle, with hours of grueling practices, not stopping until they could play it flawlessly both forwards and backwards. Okay, so, maybe, it hadn't been quite that intense, but, it hadn't been an easy feat to do. It took full dedication, sacrificing the better part of your social life, but, judging by the fact that Charlie had a good portion of her social life in the band with her, that wasn't of much concern to her. Still, though, all the work and frustration that had gone into making the band to be the best that it could be had paid off, much to Charlie's relief. However, their work was still nowhere near done. They still had to prove themselves as a band that was actually worthwhile and not just a group of five pretty faces.
Though, by taking one look at Charlie, it was probably obvious, she never really let on how much her appearance and figure mattered to her. She wasn't the type of girl who thought she was fat, weighing just about one hundred fifteen pounds, standing at five foot eight. But, she was more of the type who could glance in the mirror, picking out dozens of flaws that no one else would notice, even when she pointed them out. She didn't want to seem as though it was just some desperate cry for attention and an ego boost. It really wasn't. She was fine with who she was. There were just things that could always be fixed, no matter how tiny. There was always something that needed improvement. Her figure could always be slimmer, her hair a few shades darker, and her teeth a little straighter. The possibilities of what Charlie could find wrong with the way she looked were endless, every day bringing something new. Some days were worse than others, whereas other times, you would think that it was amazing her head hadn't exploded like an overfilled balloon, due to the way her ego inflated. She was never the type to resort to starving herself, though. When she got hungry, she got bitchy. And, when she got bitchy, she wasn't desirable to be around, hence why she ate. Did she eat in moderation? Yes. But, she ate nonetheless. Though, immediately, her mind returned to the terrifying thought of being on stage and imagining what people were going to think, the second they saw her on stage.
Though, she was thankful for the fact that she was with Caine, right now. He made it easier for her to relax and stop stressing out over what she looked like or how she was going to seem later on on stage. Around him, she could just be a normal girl, rather than a girl who sang back up and played rhythm guitar for a band trying to make it huge. Charlie's slight smirk turned to an all out smile, as his comment sunk in. "Is that an invitation? Because, if it is, something could always be arranged." Charlie teased, winking just to add the effect to the entire thing. Charlie adored the fact that she could mess around with him all she wanted, and he wouldn't take offense to it. She teased people. That was just the way she was. However, some people took it more seriously than others. Though, it was meant in jest, Charlie couldn't deny that the second half of what he had said, the portion referring to him being just about the only person she hadn't hooked up with from Eros, was true. It wasn't that the thought had never crossed her mind, as it had. It was just there were certain relationships that Charlie had with people that she valued too much to let something as petty as her less than prude ways to fuck up, both literally and figuratively. She had experienced first hand how much a simple hook-up could screw you over and mess up something you used to have. That was why there were certain things Charlie just left alone. It wasn't anything meant towards the person. It was just the way she was, valuing a friendship like what she had with Caine over any lust based emotion. There had been times, as of late, where Charlie had really been questioning the person she had become, feeling horrible for putting some of her friends into a position where if someone said a single word about her, in a manner that was meant to get to her and tear her down bit by bit, with every passing word, they got defensive. She hated putting them in a position where they felt the need to act that way, but, being the person she was, there was no way to avoid that. So, that left her with two remaining choices. She could either let them continue being defensive and protective, staying exactly as she was or, she could try to change who she was, being a little less promiscuous than she was. Though, she knew it was going to be the former. It wasn't that easy for her to change. Well, her personality, that was. Her attire, however? That was an entirely different story. Hearing Caine's offer, she was definitely tempted. But, being the person she was, he had just set himself up to get teased, once more. "Oh, I don't know there, Caine. I mean, you're a guy. You going to be able to keep yourself under control if you see me in a tank top and short shorts?" Charlie was now smiling from ear to ear just about, knowing that she had gotten her revenge for the sexuality comment. "And, only if you don't mind walking me back. I don't want to impose or anything." She had a feeling it wasn't going to be a bother, but, she just wanted to check. No harm in asking, right?
