* i'm coming back, my friends, from the deep and bitter end. .
HEY THERE. THE NAME IS ADDIE, AND I AM SIXTEEN.
I'VE BEEN ROLEPLAYING FOR ABOUT A FEW YEARS
AND MY OTHER CHARACTERSWOULD BE IMAGINARY~.
OH, BY THE WAY, I READ THE RULES. BLUE PHONE?
- - - - nicknames, belle, bellie, bells, etc. the guys in the band tend to call her hummingway a terrible pet name derived from her constant whistling and/or humming that's always heard during practice.
- - - - gender, female.
- - - - sexuality, heterosexual.
- - - - band & job, vocalist for lightshow, disco!
[/ul][/ul]
- - - - hair, dark brown.
- - - - built, short, thin, generally petite.
- - - - weight, one hundred six pounds.
- - - - height, five foot four.
- - - - fashion sense, belle has always had a unique sense of style. she tends to wear very vintage clothes, and we're talking about the twenties here. not the nineties. high necklines, empire waists, brightly colored, simple pumps, headbands, the whole package. belle dresses very modestly, but not without style.

- - - - loathes, her family (well.. i wouldn't call it lothes, per say, but she's not the biggest fan of them), drugs, alcohol, breaking rules, cigarettes (she forbids the guys in the band from smoking cigarettes. they can get freaky with the drugs if they want to ruin their lives like that, but she won't stand for cigarettes), getting in trouble, embarassing herself, not fitting in, technology (she refuses to set up for shows--that's the guys' jobs), bars, when the guys forget to shower, and music that involes screaming.
- - - - strengths, her musical talent (obviously), her good heart, and her brain.
- - - - weaknesses, her innocence to the point of naivity, her submissiveness, and her fear of rejection/punishment.
- - - - dreams, convince the guys to let her bring her cello into the band, and.. i don't know. make her father love her.
- - - - fears, rejection and embarassment.
- - - - overall personality, alright. first, picture someone who belongs at the take off your pants and jacket tour. hard rock, heavy makeup, pink hair, and late nights are the image you're getting, right? now... flip every one of those aspects completely upside down, and you have belle hemingway. she's quiet, she's submissive, she's intelligent, and she can't so much as bring herself to drink, much less party like the other rockstars do. while the rest of lightshow, disco! is out partying, belle would much rather hang out in the tour van with her best friends: herbal tea and classic literature.
although belle was raised in a strictly and ruthlessly christian home, she's slowly beginning to reject the crap that was shoved down her throat for the first eighteen years of her life. she'd always had a love for music, but in the church of christ, it was recognized as a sin to play an instrument; the lord should be praised with the body, and not some man-made machine. she's recently been struggling with her faith and spirituality; between rejecting the hatred of music that was instilled upon her and joining a band and still trying to keep her faith through this bizarre world she's entered into, belle's currently pretty confused spiritually. but, because she's so quiet and meditative by nature, it's easy for belle to sort of retreat into her head in the wild setting of the tour and continue sorting things out.

- - - - overall history, j.p. hemingway and rebecca lewin met.. well, what do you expect? they met at church. rebecca moved at the age of seventeen from the oh-so-big city of mcalister, oklahoma. her grandfather had died and her parents had decided to move the whole family west to live with a strictly religious and slightly senile grandmother. while attending a regular sunday service at the enid church of christ, rebecca--raised religiousless until now--was completely bored. until, that was, she laid eyes on the beautiful, sparkling-eyed, glasses-wearing youth minister and fell in love. after the service, obsessively trying to think of a clever but classy and enchanting question to ask, rebecca failed to notice the microphone cord that seperated her and the youth minister as she approached him. she tripped. when he ran up to ask if she was alright, she stared slack-jawed at him for a few moments before saying "um.. i like your glasses." they got hitched six months later.
shortly after this, with blessings from both j.p.'s parents and rebecca's grandmother (who couldn't be more thrilled that her previously antichrist granddaughter was now marrying a hemingway, the town's prestigious family of genetic ministers), rebecca found that she was pregnant. the entire city of enid was overjoyed for the new couple. eventually, of course, rebecca gave birth to her first child: joseph john hemingway, destined for the ministry, just like his father and the father before him. up next was zachary charles, the first hemingway to discover an obsessive love for music. at a young age, zach purchased a second-hand guitar at a garage sale with his own money, but since music was forbidden in the church, he hid the instrument and played on his own, at parks or in forests as far away from town as he could get. later, the third--and presumed last--hemingway, lawrence, shared his brother's love for art when he discovered that he loved to dance. but he, as well, was shot down by the church.
after lawrence was born, j.p. discovered that he was infertile--no more children were to be had by this generation of hemingways. but with three healthy boys to continue the "throne", no one was worried. until, that was, rebecca got pregnant again. the couple simply decided that the doctors were wrong.. and the hemingway parents were blessed by god with another child. of course, when the child of two dark-eyed parents came out with sparkling and intense blue eyes, john paul denounced his wife as a sinner and adulterer, and--scarlet-letter-style--banished her from enid. not legally, of course, and he couldn't force her to wear anything on her chest... but socially, that's what happened. she stole away in the night with two of her sons--law and zach--and ended up in wichita, kansas. anabelle delores--to be affectionately nicknamed "belle--grew up in kansas, in a church identical to the one back in enid. of course, rebecca kept her illegitimate child a secret, claiming simply that her husband had passed away shortly before belle was born.
the church continued to reject the hemingway children's love of music as sin, but that didn't stop them. zach spent saturdays teaching his sister the guitar, while law stole away to dance classes after school, telling his mother he was going to the "library", of course. as each child grew up, he looked for colleges as far away from home as possible--law so that he could pursue his dancing, zach to continue his guitar, and belle... well, what did belle want to do? she was more susceptible to the religion her mother had forced upon her, so she tried to ignore her love for music--until she ended up in los angeles. a few of her friends--she'd gotten into the "wrong crowd", of course!--got tired of belle's constant singing and humming, and talked her into singing for them. when they discovered she had a beautiful voice, the boys asked belle to join their little band. after all, it was all really for a joke, and they didn't have a voice to front for themselves! but when the band was discovered, belle more willingly worked on her music, only to become very successful with the rest of lightshow, disco![/ul][/ul]
